Black Tea

Black tea is the most popular and widely produced type of Ceylon tea, recognized globally for its bold flavor, rich aroma, and bright copper-colored brew. Grown in regions such as Nuwara Eliya, Uva, Dimbula, and Ruhuna, Sri Lankan black tea reflects the diversity of the island’s climate and elevation. High-grown teas like those from Nuwara Eliya are lighter and more floral, while low-grown teas from Ruhuna are stronger, fuller-bodied, and more robust. Black tea is carefully withered, rolled, oxidized, and dried to achieve its characteristic strength and depth of flavor.
